Temperature sensing

Post by bontwoody »

Ive just ordered a Tellstick and Im keen to utilise it in a home automation system. Ive had a look through the forum for any supported temperature sensors (ideally probes for a heating store) but cannot find any with hyperlinks that are active. Is there a list of supported devices somewhere?

thanks Mark

Thanks for the reply. I had a look there but the link for temperature sensors is out of date.

Is there an active link anywhere?

I'm also searching for temperature sensors.
Have anybody been using these?

Or does these work?

The one at Teknikmagasinet works for sure (I have two of them at home already). However, I don't believe the Clas Ohlson version is supported (yet).

Maybe I have misunderstood but if you have the standard TellStick, it can only transmit. To receive signals from sensors you need the TellStick Duo or TellStick Net

I have tellstick duo and I think also that it is not possible to receive temp data
with standard tellstick.

I found yet another 433 MHz temp sensors:

Does anyone have experience?

What software you have used to read the temperature values from the sensors?

If you are asking me, I use the following:

- For Oregon devices, I use the RFXCOM and my own developed plugin for EventGhost (RFXcom_xPL)
- For UPM/ESIC devices, I use NetHomeServer and connect to it with my own developed plugin for EventGhost (NetHomeServer)

All this stuff is described in several threads back at EventGhost forum where you also find all plugins for download. I think there is a link to find NetHomeServer there as well

In addition, I have some private developed plugins that uses those temperature/humidity readings to calculate the dew point in real time for various places in the house to indicate and alert me if there is a risk with too high humidity.

Best regards, Walter

OK, you are using different hardware. I have the Tellstick duo and I was searching for
software that can be used to read the temperatures or at least some advice how to do it.
How can I check that tellstick is receiving temperature values?
Has anyone done temperature monitoring with tellstick duo?

You can already use EventGhost with the plugin I wrote for Duo. It will give you events, all depending on how good the sensor is supported by Duo itself. For some sensors you might get strange readings, for others it might work and for some you will have to do a separate calculation of the values received (depending on the actual algoritm specific for the sensor).

I am waiting for the next support for sensors in Duo (Oregon and UPM/ESIC is planned), as soon as it is available I will also try it.

Best regards
