Tellstick Net not so reliable as i thought

Post by khaffner »

I've had a Tellstick Net for nearly 2 years now and have been enjoying it :)
This weekend my brother and I started a hydroponics-project, and used the scheduler on live.telldus.com as a timer for the water pump.
I set the switch for the pump to be turned on two minutes every half hour. 18.00-18.02, 18.30-18.32, 19.00-19.02....
The switch is usually turned on for about 80-90 seconds, or more than 5 minutes(the we manually switch it off).

My Tellstick Net runs firmware v4

Is there any way Telldus or I can improve the reliability on this schedule?

The scheduler is not very suitable for "high resolution" projects. A scheduled job can run any time during the minute that has been set, and unfortunately at the most busy time slots (16:00, 17:00, 18:00 etc) some jobs are not run until XX:01. I would suggest setting the jobs to run for example 18:10-18:12 and 18:40-18:42 instead, if possible. Soon you can also test the new event based scheduler, http://developer.telldus.com/blog/2013/ ... aunch-date But there too a job can run any time during the scheduled minute.

If you got other problems, that the signal isn't sent at all for example, please post a support ticket, http://telldus.com/support/index

A feature for the net could be that live would send the next say 5-20 sheduled events to the net and the keep local time with a NTP server for higher accuracy and lower peak load on live.

I have moved the entire schedule 10 minutes forward, and now it works fine :)

Good idea Zapper!
