THGR238N Sensors actualisation lap time

Post by philarete »

Hi Perhaps the thing has already been told.
But what is the rule for Sensor Actualisation with Tellnet ? I have two THGR238N Oregon sensors, working fine with Tellnet (it's my only success till i got it). But i noticed that the sensor sent a signal almos every 1 minute and a half (red lamp blinking in front of the sensor). But the actualisation in blue blinking Tellnet database is in ramdom mode: every hour during 6 hours, every ten hours after, every minute for a moment. Is it normal ? I mean, if the temp doesn't change, at least the timestamp should actualize, right ?

Has to do with range, interference and signal conditions. I get much fewer updates with the same type of sensor when its further away then when its close by.

The variation most probably comes from interference as it is running on the ISM band which is unlicensed and free to use, so a lot of crap can be there like cordless phones, handy talkies and a lot of other wireless gadgets.
