Range of Tellstick with Waveman?

I just bought a Tellstick from Clas Ohlson together with some Waveman receivers (32-6457), but I'm only able to make it work if the receivers are about 1 meter or closer to the Tellstick. I'm using latest TelldusCenter 2.0 on Mac OS X 10.6.
With the Waveman remote I'm able to operate the receivers from a much greater distance (I could even use it outside my house).
Any ideas on what could be wrong here?
