Hi,

for TellStick and Tellstick Duo I can use the API for OpenWrt.

Can I handle the Tellstick Net only via internet or also locally and with OpenWrt API over the Ethernet port?

I don't want to use the Telldus Live portal with the Tellstick Net. Or it's cogent to use the Live portal when owning a Tellstick Net?

Regards, Markus

Markus,

AFAIK at the moment Tellstick Net is limited to interface through Telldus Live only.

There is an open development ticket here : http://developer.telldus.com/ticket/114 with the intention of local control for the Tellstick Net, it's marked "critical" so it's fairly safe to assume it will be implemented in the relatively near future.

I've got a brand new Tellstick Net sitting at home but for the moment I'm holding out for local support, not keen on replacing my Dovado / Tellstick combo with something reliant on external control.

Saying that, if I get bored over the weekend I might have them both running in parallel..

I read this ticket few days ago but there is written that it's not verified by Telldus. Moreover, it's not possible to answer to this ticket.

I want to buy the Tellstick Net but now no shop has it on stock. Maybe I will get it via Amazon soon.

The Tellstick Net would be better that the USB solutions.

Maybe it will be implemented soon. :-)

Does the Tellstick Net have a webif?
Or just sends the Live portal the commands to the device?

How does the protocol looks like when the Tellstick Net gets commands from the Live portal? Did anyone sniff the traffic? It's encrypted?

I wouldn't worry about it not being verified by Telldus, owner and reporter are both Micke Prag who is an admin here and a Telldus employee.

The Tellstick Net's are difficult to get hold of, I was waiting for local control before buying one from Sweden (have a few mates there who were willing to ship for me) but then spied one on UK EBay shop and thought I'd better get it while I could.

It's a good point on how the Net is currently controlled - since Live is signalling it externally then I struggle to see why the Live instruction set could not be implemented locally. However given the fact that Telldus are in the process of sorting local control, I'd assume if it was as simple as opening up the Live control set then they would have done it already.

Encryption is a reasonable reason why it wouldn't be that easy.

I could plug the Net in and sniff it, however I suspect one of the Telldus guys will be able to supply an answer before I get round to it.

Does your Tellstick Net have a web-interface?

It is open fore anyone to answer to the tickets. You only need a Telldus account.

The best way to spped things up is to get in and comment on the interface. We will not implement anything until we now how it should be designed. And so far we don't have that many comments...

I logged in and could answer to other tickets but at this ticket I didn't see a answer button.

How does it work now? Does the Tellstick Net have a webif?
Or it's realized that the Tellstick Net adapter only gets some commands from the Live portal and then it sends such 433MHt bit-codes out?

Because then it would be simple to write a local-live-portal which sends the commands to the Netstick Net adapter.

Ok, now I can answer to this ticket. :-)
