Using delay

Post by 250266 »

I just purchased a Tellstic Net and signed up to Telldus Live to do home automation so I could control light and pumps to save some money on the electrical bill. I’m setting transmitters and receivers up and it’s going well. Working very nice.

Now I need to use the feature Delay and “Delay type” in advanced settings. But I can’t use it since to set this property I need a Telldus Live pro account. I can’t find where to get this and even worse it seems to cost EUR25 a year!

It’s probably more than I could save on my electrical bill. Is there any way at all to get around making a delay on a standard account?

Try to add an SMS or email action to your event, you should then see a pop-up window for upgrading to the Pro version.
You need to describe the requested function/delay more specific, otherwise it's impossible to come up with a possible work-around.

Thanks for you answer.
I have motion detectors in the house strategic placed. Now it’s possible to detect if there are anybody home and placed in certain areas. No problem with this on the standard account.
A motion detected should turn on my Nexa on/off main socket so the circulation pump with hot water starts and run for 1 hour. Any other motion detected in this period should restart the timer and there will therefore go 1 hour before it turns off.

I guess you could solve this by using a (suitable) time relay connected to a Nexa pro receiver WRR-1. The receiver has a timer function which deactivates the relay after 3 minutes to 4 hours
Then by receiving the ON signals from your IR-detectors to Telldus Live and summing up and sending ON signals to the receiver it will activate the time relay which then activates the pump for 1 hour. If no ON signals from the detectors have been received, the receiver will switch off after 3 minutes, and the time relay will then switch after 1h. If a new ON signal is received after 3 minutes the reviver will once again be activated and re-trigger the time relay which runs for another 1h hour period.
Some testing is recommended before you install it, I would say...

Yes. I think this could be an idea to test. Thanks.
