Genomgång av vad som skedde lördag morgon den 27:e oktober.
Glesys (vår hostingleverantör) meddelar att de hade problem med deras DNS resolver. Eftersom Telldus Live! körs på flera servrar påverkade detta kommunikationen mellan servrarna. De TellStick Net som var anslutna behölls men tyvärr gick det inte att styra några enheter. Det som påverkades under de 2 timmar som DNS:en inte fungerade var inloggningen på hemsidan, manuella styrningar samt schemaläggaren. Även vårt interna övervakningssystem fick problem i och med detta. Klockan 07:15 fungerade allt igen.
Vi håller på att säkra upp DNS-uppslagningarna så att vi inte är lika beroende av den.
A review of what happened Saturday morning on the 27th of October.
Glesys (our hosting provider) announced that they had problems with their DNS resolver. Since Telldus Live! runs on multiple servers this affected the communication between the servers. The TellStick Net that was connected kept their connection but unfortunately it was impossible to control some devices. What was affected during the two hours that DNS did not work was the login to the website, manual control, and the scheduler. Even our internal monitoring system had problems with this. At 7:15, everything worked again.
We are currently working on making us not so dependent on the DNS lookups.
