Replacement for SwitchKing

Post by Jefman »

Hi All,

I have been using SwitchKing in combination with TellStick Classic. Now when they are closing down the software I would like to find another that I can use with my TellStick Classic and for future expansion with Z-wave products.

Use today:
Nexa and Proove Powersockets
Nexa WMR-1000 (On/Off with LWST-605(I think))
Sun up/down scheduling
Light sensor (external webpage data)
iPhone App

Wishlist
No costs except for hardware
Z-wave support
Add devices in GUI (If no other options conf editing is fine for me)
Webinterface for computer,iPad,iPhone
external api for external control system

I'm ok with using linux/windows solution and know my ways around the systems and not afraid of CLI.

I have browsed a bit on following systems:

Home Assistant (like the support base for different products)
HomeAutomation
Domoticz

Can anyone give feedback or inputs on what I should go ahead to test?

Thanks!

Node-RED

An easy-off-you-go package is provided by ThingBox. It can't be simpler

An old thread but anyways...

I did exactly the same thing. I used to run SwitchKing with the classic Telldus stick and I looked for a replacement and assessed the same list as you. My review was that they were either too messy or too complex. So I built my own nodes for Node-RED that are simple but yet powerful as you can use the power of Node-RED and the big community that creates additional nodes. As Node-RED is very much event driven and by default it doesn't hold state I created a set of nodes to help facilitate that. Today I'm running it on a Raspberry Pi 2 with rfxtrx433 as a transmitter but you can use a Tellstick if that is your preference..

I've put together an introduction that you can find here: https://github.com/nidayand/norelite/fi ... .1.5.0.pdf
