Nexa System PRO Trådløs M-SPOT 100RF 12V Innfelt dimmer

Post by Newb »

Hei.

Hi,

I'm using one of these to control a dimmable led strip. After purchasing the unit, unfortunately I found out that the dimming functionality does not work. Answer from Telldus support below:
Hello,

I've had some challenges with Nexa M-spot 100 LED dimmer, which should be compatible with Tellstick. I set it up as Nexa self learning dimmer , but dim level work poorly from Web GUI (maybe 75-100%) and "Off" does not work at all. "Off" works ok with remote and if the unit is setup as "On/Off" type. Dimming work fine from the Nexa remote. Is there something else that I should consider when setting it up? I found out that there has been similar problems with other users as well: http://www.telldus.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 089#p26089

Regards,
Antti

Hi,

We've not tested this device ourselves, but it seems strange that one Nexa device should not use the same protocol as all other Nexa devices. Accually we think those M-SPOT-devices is not manufactured by the same factory as "all" other Nexa devices, maybe this other manufacturer have interpreted the protocol differently. Since there is not any remote control (that we know of) that can send absolute dim levels to this receiver, it's very hard to reverse engineer their interpretation of the protocol - it is therefore unlikely that TellStick will have support for the M-SPOT-products.

Ok, thanks for the reply. On some web sites though it is listed as supported and also on your website these units are not mentioned separately as not compatible (only "System Nexa Pro dimmers do not support absolute dim values, they can only function as on/off-devices.").

Would be good if similar mentioning would be added about the M-Spot series that they only work as on/off devices.

Hi,
Yes, we'll do that. These devices are new for us, so we just haven't had the possibility yet.
