TelldusCenter 2.1 missing dll for Eventghost plugin.

Post by gap »

Hi,
the TelldusCenter 2.1.0 is missing the "TellUsbD101.dll" for the Tellstick-Eventghost-plugin.

I got the dll from my old PC (TelldusCenter 2.0.4) and put it in my windows/system diretory.
Everything is working perfect again.

Just wanted to let you know, so you can update the plugin or include the dll again.

Greetings from a big tellstick fan :)

Hi,
thank you for making us aware of this!

A new version of the EventGhost plugin is on its way. TellUsbD101.dll is really old, and is finally removed in the 2.1.0 version of TelldusCenter.

Until the official version has the updated plugin there is a thirdparty one available for download under "Other downloads" here:

I can't find the dll from the link you provided. I really want to run the tellstick Eventghost plugin, but can't because the dll is missing.

1) First, download & install latest Telldus Center (most likely you have this already)
2) Define your devices (maybe is done too)

Then go here and pick the plugin of your choice:

For TellStick:
TS2_26052010.zip
(40.05 KiB) Downloaded 1274 times
For TellStick Duo:
http://www.eventghost.net/forum/viewtop ... f=9&t=3512
Go to the last page of the thread and you find the very latest

The plugins above are not using the old TellUsbD101.dll anymore

Thanks, Kram

I just installed EventGhost 0.4.1.r1568 and had to come here to get your TS2 plugin.
Do you have access to add this file to the EventGhost installer? And maybe remove the old Tellstick plugin and rename this one to Tellstick. I don't think all users will understand that TS2 = Tellstick :)

How do I make my old configuration work with the new plugin? Re-specify all dim modes etc is a very bad answer.. :?

You have to specify your specific problems better

I use eventghost to control my lights from my laptop. Tellstick is attached to my server, which listens to my laptop. I have setup 5 dim levels on all my lights, so I have reserved button combinations "<+1-5" for my living room "<+q-t" for my dining room and so on. Seems that I have to setup everything again in eventghost, if the plugin is changed.. It´s a pita to setup them as you have to specify the dim level from the eventghost tellstick plugin, so it is not going to work by just drag and drop.

I solved my problem for now by copying the old .dll from my backup. I plan however to buy tellstick duo when it comes available and seems like I´m facing this problem then?

The Tellstick Duo has a another plugin to be able also to receive signals. So yes, if you are going to use this, you have to use the plugin for Duo instead. Regarding the discussion here about the old dll, the latest versions of the Tellstick (TS2) and Tellstick Duo plugins are not using "TellUsbD101.dll" anymore. See to that you also have succeeded in upgrading Telldus center to the latest.

I have myself sometimes ended up in similar problem having the need to transfer a configuration from earlier. I normally do this via xml-editing, copy & paste macros and actions I need from earlier.

1) Keep a copy of your current EG configuration (it is an xml-file)

2) Make a new configuration in EG, add the Tellstcik Duo plugin and some macros for dim etc as reference to compare with the older structure and save

3) Exit EG

4) Open up the two configurations XML files in a suitable editor

A typical dim macro for TS2 looks like this:

Code: Select all

    <Macro Name="TS2: Dim Washroom door to 50%" Expanded="True">
        <Action>
            TellStick.Dim(21, 128)
        </Action>
    </Macro>
A typical dim macro for Duo looks like this:

Code: Select all

    <Macro Name="TellStickDuo: Dim Washroom door to 50%">
        <Action>
            TellStickDuo.Dim('Washroom door', 50)
        </Action>
    </Macro>
Copy paste from the old config to the new and edit all the labels from "TS2" and TellStick" to "TellStickDuo" of the macros and actions as example above. Note that for Duo I am using real name instead of number for the device.

Save, start EG, open your fixed config and it should work as before

Best regards, Walter
