Capacitor blow-out

Post by gsm » Sat Feb 17, 2018 2:08 pm

Hi
I have an ordinary temperature sensor like the WH2 but without humidity sensor that fall out sometimes and since a few days it does not connect at all to my Tellstick Net anymore so I open it and the capacitor has been blow-out.
Does anyone know what kind of capacitor it is and the value ?

That's normal. The capacitor is a trim/adjustment capacitor and the red blob is fixation paint used by the factory when tuning the transmitter.

It seems like you have some leaking batteries. I think I can see oxide on the battery contacts, especially the negatve on the uppermost battery.

Thank you. If this is normal and the capacitor is ok then something else is wrong because there is no connection anymore with the Tellstick Net
It is not word to repair it so I think I go for a new and modern one.

There is no oxide on the battery contact, maybe something on the photo but the contacts are clear
