Oregon Sensor Support - Telldus Live!

Post by canta »

Hi all,
just got a new TellStick net - and it works great with all my Switches + Dimmers. Great! Really like the product, easy to set up. Works as it should! Thanks!

I tried to find out how to get my Oregon Scientific Temp/Hygro Sensor to work with TellStick Net - but it doesnt work. So far I could not find any of the listed supported sensors to order online any more. So I tried another model. I have two Oregon Scientific THGR228N sending on channel 2 and channel 3, but they don't show up in Telldus Live :(
Is there anything I need to do to register the sensors?

Is or when will the Oregon Scientific THGR228N be supported?

Thanks & best regards,
Canta

Hi all,

any help on my Temp/Hygro Sensor?
I don't get THGR228N to work and need to send them back :-(

Any recommendation which Oregon Sensors are really working and where to order them?

Thanks & regards

Hi,
yes - I am aware of this list.

THGR238N (on the list) is displayed on other sites as
THGR238N/228N => so when I ordered it, I got a sensor with 228N printed on the back, assuming it is compatible. But it seems not to work.

e.g. http://www.numericshop.be/en/catalogue/ ... us_menu=53
or
http://www.diunamaishop.it/p-9537_.html

With regards to the others on the list - in Germany I can only find THGN132N directly from Oregon Shop. But it has no sensor LCD display :-(
From the other sensors I could not find any site in stock to order from.

Do you plan to extend the support of other sensors any time soon?

Thanks & regards,
Canta

As well as those listed on the site:

Oregon Scientific THGN122N - Temperature and Humidity3
Oregon Scientific THGN132N - Temperature and Humidity3
Oregon Scientific THGN228N - Temperature and Humidity3
Oregon Scientific THGR238N - Temperature and Humidity3
Oregon Scientific THWR288 - Pool thermometer, Temperature

These work too:

Oregon Scientific THN132N - Temperature only
Oregon Scientific THC268 - Temperature only - probe on wire.

Sadly this one doesn't work:

THGR810

The THGR810 does work fine on another device I have for picking up temp sensors and it works on the same method as the likes of THGN132N. So, I guess it wouldn't be too hard to implement support for the THGR810

THGR810 uses the Oregon Scientific 3.0 protocol. For more information, one might wanna checkout the following:

* "Decode the OOK data coming from an Oregon Scientific THGR810 sensor"
http://jeelabs.org/2010/04/15/oregon-sensors

* "Oregon Scientific RF Protocol Description" by the Open Source initiative WSDL

Have you submitted this information to the telldus crew (creating a support ticket or sending a mail)? It's much bigger chances that tellstick will have support for the sensor if telldus get detailed information about the protocol used.

I created a ticket my self in order to not loose the information. :)

I have an oregon weather station at our country house paired together with the oregon sensors mentioned above.
Right now I am thinking of acquiring a tellstick net, to monitor those sensors from home.
Is this confirmed that those two sensors works with tellstick net?

Reg /T

PS: I read @telldus that tellstick net support those sensors , i just want to be sure ....

I cannot speak for those models but I have two 238N from Oregon Scientific. A model that is also listed as "supported" and sure it works.. now and then.

My experience is that there are gaps when nothing is recieved from the Oregon sensors, sometimes minutes, sometimes more then 24 hours. I have a couple of esic 99 SEK sensors from claes ohlson, maybe not as accurate in temperature and humidity but much more accurate in reporting to the tellstick net. which makes it way better for monitoring.

I use TelldusCenter 2.1.1 and just updated the firmware on my Tellstick Duo to v5. However, in TelldusCenter I can only see temperature from the Oregon Scientific THGN132N (Thermo-hygro sensor). In desperate need to read the humidity, how did you get it to work?
