Event trigged by timer

Post by Furan »

I want to set up an event that is trigged when a unit has been on for a period of time.
I was surprised that I can´t figure out a way to do it.
My GF always forgets to close the garage door (door magnet) so I want to trig the doorbell to ring when the garage door has been open for 10 minutes.
This trigger should not go of if the door is closed within theese 10 minutes.

Create an event that is triggered by the magnet contact on the garage door. As an action you switch on a fictitious unit (a unit without a physical receiver) after 10 minutes. (A pro account is necessary when you want to use the delay function.)
The switch on of this unit will then trigger another event in which you have the garage door=on as condition, actions as required.

Thank you. I have made the programming, but not tried it yet.
logically this will work anyway. I'd wish that telldus made this function available, so that we don´t need this kind of workarounds. Also fictious units should rather be a real option, so that the transmitter could call it without sending anything.
