Automagically Wiki
Great , we now have this forum to share Q&A's and help each other. Still, I think we are missing a place to store the common knowledge of this community, so I simply created a Wiki for Automagically and started to fill it with content that I found hard to find - that initially helps new people ...

Odd Behaviour - Anyone else
Hi, I have these rather odd behavior(s) with Automagically. 1. After a reboot, it will not take commands (from the web). The daemon is running and I can see it communicate with both Live and Xively - but no contact with the tellstick. If I stop and start the daemon manually at this point it all work...

Re: WiFi Adaptor
Hi, Cannot help directly as I'm not using WiFi, but I've been contemplating to add that option. Found this quite detailed guide on how to go about this: http://www.howtogeek.com/167425/how-to-setup-wi-fi-on-your-raspberry-pi-via-the-command-line/ Of the two adapters you listed, I would go for the TL...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
Hi, If you make a backup of your SD card using Win32DiskImager everything on it be there in the backup. It is a raw copy of your SD card; so you only need to run sudo pip install once. And if you are using the image from my torrent you don't have to do that - it is already included. I made the reque...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
In System Settings , what is the value for interval? Seconds? /misterleffe The interval in System Settings is seconds, when you have changed this setting - the plugin will wait NN seconds and then start publishing variables to Xively. If you have followed the tutorial, you should not have to do any...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
I've also noticed that, it take a quite long time to get the Automagically up and running after a shutdown. I refer to the data at Main page in Automagically. In essence you just confirmed that you have the same issue (#2) as I described in this post: http://www.telldus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
Xively seems to have some issues with some characters in the variable name. Well, it has. When trying to add something in their WEB Api I get this: xively_api.JPG In essence; letters, numbers, +, - and _ is accepted. What's your opinion: Should the plugin strip anything illegal, or should we simply...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
Which stop this? Automagically or Xivley? I'm pretty sure this limitation is within Automagically. When I tried it, I crashed the signal handler. Xively plug-in never even had a clue that things was happening... What is your opinion? That Xively should differentiate between identifier and descripti...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
I'll work on it... Should now be fixed. Update to the latest version of xively plug-in. $ sudo /etc/init.d/automagically stop $ cd ~/source/automagically/site/plugins/ $ sudo rm xively.py* $ wget https://bitbucket.org/MarcusKarlsson/automagically/raw/ead5b08eb03c36341f9f0f3516f69b6891f11301/site/pl...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
I keep trying to find time to review the pull request. But it seems to be updated now and then :-) i do My best this weekend. What I am afraid of is its dependency to other software. I would not like to have it to install software automatically nor can it crash systems that doesn't have it installe...

Re: TWO Tellsticks (Raspberry) / Simultaneously SEND+RECEIVE
Does this make sense now? Any other suggestions? This sounds like something that Automagically almost can handle, you might want to check it out. http://www.telldus.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=25 http://automagically.weebly.com/home-automation.html http://automagically.wikia.com/wiki/Automagically_Wi...

SD Card for Original Image
Hi (David), Can you tell what SD card you have been using for your original image. I've now tried two different 4Gb SD cards and none of them allows me to write the automagically_2013_11_29 image. SD-Card.JPG This is what Windows thinks about one of them: SD-Card_2.JPG I've tested with the following...

Re: Automagically + Xively = True
Maybe this should be put in a New Topic? I leave this for Admin to decide this. Yes it is :D I plan to implement a kwH meter in my Automagically system. A photodiode counting "LED blinks" described here: http://foogadgets.blogspot.se / Can this be handle by conversing the signal in Signal...

Re: Upgrade verkar inte fungera som avsett.
I'll see if I can find time to do that... Well, now I have the image - but it was created from a 16Gb SD card so I have nowhere to store it since it's quite big; and I guess most have smaller SD cards anyway so it'll not be possible to use. :( Anyone interested in this (way too large) image, use th...

Updated (too large) image available
Hi, Edit: Torrent removed, better use this post instead: http://www.telldus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4243 I have created a new image where I have updated as much as I could/knew. Unfortunately I only had a 16Gb SD card available, so the image is way too big for regular use. Sorry for the i...
