I intend to add modbus TCP support to automagically.
My experience with modbus is limited but I'll give it a try.
I've already contributed with the 1wire support to this project so I think I know how it works on the automagically side.

My system is also up and running since 2014 with tellstick duo and 1wire temp sensors.

You can use any hardware to connect to your 1-wire for instance 1-wire board connected to GPIO or usb 1-wire board. Then you have to run owserver which is not in the scope for automagically. Automagically just connects to owserver reglardless of how the 1-wire net is connected.
