Re: Remotestick (Android)
Managed to break Remotestick beyond recognition today. Out of the blue it started crashing, and crashing, and crashing. I force closed it, froze and defroze it, restore app and data using Titanium Backup, and nothing helped. In the end, restoring an old version of the app and then updating the app s...

Re: WakeUpLight (iOS)
I made something similar on Android, which triggered automatically based on the device's alarm. Is that possible on iOS? By that I mean if you have to set the alarm on the device, then go into the app, and then set the wake up light?

Re: Telldus <--> PLEX Media
What do you use to play back media? I know both Windows and Android has software that would allow you to tie an app starting to dimming the light, without having to press anything from inside plex

Re: locale plugins android
Tasker does indeed require Google Maps. The Tasker website has a 7 day free trial, so you should be able to use that to try to see if you can get it working at all. As for Tasker vs Locale, you can't use Locale here. If it was only one device, sure, you you're saying that you need a media player to ...

Re: locale plugins android
Hmm, yeah I don't see any obvious way of doing that. To benefit from the whole Tasker type of a thing you really need Android devices. I sold my Galaxy Tab and bought another iPad, leaving me with 2x iOS and 1x Android instead of the other way around, and it's driving me a bit crazy at times to not ...

Getting temperature data into Tasker somehow
New to the whole Tellstick thing, and just picked up a Jenkinsbird temperature sensor for my Tellstick Net. I thought it such an obvious feature that the RemoteStick app's Tasker/Locale plugin would be capable of populating a Tasker plugin with this data, but apparently it can only trigger profiles ...

Re: Remotestick (Android)
Speaking of alternative ways of handling dimmers, any way you could make the dimmer field in the plugin configuration screen in Tasker accept a tasker variable? E.g. you create your own UI using Tasker scenes, and add a slider element with values from 0-100. You set it to save that value in %Dimval ...

Re: Remotestick (Android)
I use both an iPad and an Android phone, and came up with a way to add homescreen shortcuts on my iPad that control equipment, through RemoteStick on Android. The way it works is that the shortcut loads a URL from an Android app called AutoRemote, which sends a message to the Android phone, where Ta...

How to: Control Android using remotes and Events
With the Events feature in the new beta something I've waited a long time for is suddenly possible: triggering actions on an Android device using physical remotes connected to a TellStick. This basically means that practically any feature on your phone can now be controlled using TellStick compatibl...

Re: Remotestick (Android)
Picked up a Sony Smartwatch a couple of hours ago. I bought it after finding a Chinese plug in for it called AppWidgetDisplay, that allows you to display and use stock Android widgets on the watch, which has a color touchscreen. Short story even shorter: here's how it works with Remotestick https://...

Re: How to: Control Android using remotes and Events
Dummy device = fake device In other words you add a device that isn't actually tied to a physical device. For a remote, you could for instance add an on/off device, and then program it to respond to the remote, but not actually program it to control a real world piece of equipment. That way when you...

Re: Remotestick (Android)
They have two, and the latest one with a touchscreen is really the only one capable of this. Anyways, I made my own little control widget in UCCW: http://t.co/nwyuTLVYgH

Re: Remotestick (Android)
I just posted a full tutorial for using the watch with Tasker here: http://www.pocketables.com/2013/03/how-to-use-the-sony-smartwatch-with-tasker.html With Remotestick's excellent Tasker support, you can use that to create anything you want for the watch. Control buttons for single switch, groups, s...
