Database with tested sensors/recievers

Hi,
We are now trying to gather the information in a Wiki:

Looking forward to your contribution :)

It seems that posts of the type "does sensor brand X model z work with tellstick NET?" is quite common. The standard reply is referring the user to http://telldus.se/products/compability. Although this provides a good overview, it also seems that some sensors from other brands work (ie ebay, dealxtreme etc).

It would be nice to have a user modifiable database where everyone could post which sensors/receivers they have tested etc. Then a simple search in this database could be of great help. Brand, model, articlenumber, type of sensor, and possible link to “place of purchase” and price could be provided.

What do you guys think? Could this be useful? And if so, can any tech-savvy people make such database?

Really nice, but could you add a comment box? and what is the price unit? I added one in dollar, and i was not able to put a dollar sign afterwards...

Great that you want to contribute. I have left the idea of this database and started on a Wiki instead. It is easier to edit and everyone can contribute.

This is a great idea, and probably something we should have done ourselves already but haven't.

We'll link to your wiki, but if we discover that it doesn't work out (if it's confusing or stops getting updated) we may have to remove the links again.

One thing you'll probably have to consider is the different firmware versions. Some devices can only be controlled after a firmware update, and the firmware version should probably be included in the "Tested with"-part.

If you need our help to clarify anything let us know and we'll do our best.
I will go ahead and update the pages I have created with my firmware version..

But keep in mind, the site is so far just a pilot. That especially goes for the formatting, so it will be a bit "messy" in the beginning. Hopefully we will find a system for formatting which is reproducible and applicable to all types of adapters etc.

The unit type (ie terminology concerning function) should be standardized, but as for now, my knowledge is limited and i do not have the complete overview over what types of equipment is available. I propose a possible division (please help me fill inn the blanks):
Basicly, you can divide all equipment into two main categories: Recievers and Sensors (?)

Recievers:
1. Wall socket - switch
2. Wall socket - Dimmer
3. ....
x...

Sensors:
1. Thermometer
2. Hygrometer
3. Thermo- and hygrometer
4. Motion sensor
5. Smoke detector
6. Magnet sensors
x. xx

What about wall switches, such as nexa LWST-605? Are these used to communciate with the tellstick unit aswell, or only the wall socket switch?

Oh, i have forgot to mention that this Ebay switch have its downside:
This magnetic switch only send signal when magnet is moved away from main part. You will not get "on"+"off" as this item acts as a "Bell". The "turnon"/"turnoff" in example signals are only aviable if you choose this with jumper settings. In other way: its not working the same way as Nexa/Proove magnetic switch that send signals both when magnet is moved away and attached.

Thats okay, i will just create a task to turn it off after 5 sec with tasker :-)
