Detecting signals encoded with HT12E

Hi,
I would like my Tellstick Duo to detect signals from units using the circuit HT12E for encoding http://www.engineersgarage.com/electron ... ents/ht12e
Has anyone done that before?
If not I assume I have to write a new protocol interpreter in the firmware. The comments in the source code looks quite sparse... Is there any documentation available for writing new protocols?
