transmission delay

This issue applies to both telldus live API and telldus local api on the ZNet lite.
I've noticed that when I send command (like dim to x%), the first command goes almost instantly. If i send more commands immediately after the first one there is a delay of around 1-2 seconds between each radio command.
The http api will respond instantly with 200 OK, even though the command did not go out on radio. It seems the server is instantly acceping the commands and adding it to a queue for slower processing (transmitting).

So I'm wondering why is there a delay like this after the first sent command and the next ones, and is it possible to tune this?
